Volunteer Programs

Whether you wish to work at a special event, administrative office, or online, Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit Volunteer Program encourages individuals who need community/service hours or just want to volunteer to help make a difference. There are several opportunities for you:

Tutoring

Tutors are needed at virtually all Goodwill training locations to improve the skills of clients. No previous teaching experience is required. Volunteers will be trained onsite, if needed. Once trained, volunteers will be able to choose which location and which population they prefer to assist. For this program, weekly commitments are requested. Hours may very depending on location for tutoring.

Special Event Assistance

Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit has many special events throughout the year that require extra hands and minds. There are several that will require the volunteers to help set-up, maintain and clean up at the events. Special event dates will be posted under News and Events.

Administrative Office Assistance

Goodwill always needs people with administrative and computer skills for data entry, mailings, registrations and social media. Weekly or semi-weekly commitment preferred. Hours of operation: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
